Missions - New Beginnings Family Church

	The concept of missons is a much larger picture than sending missionaries to foreign countries. Missions also involves influencing our home country, province and city. In Acts 1:8 it states, " But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." New Beginnings is striving to impact our city of Calgary, the province of Alberta, our country of Canada and other parts of the world as well.

THE WHY CAMPAIGN

	The Why Campaign is an initiative that has impacted cities all over Canada . We are part of the Why Campaign in Calgary . The Why book is a coffee table sized soft cover book that chronicles creation through to salvation. The book also regales the personal testimonies of well-known christians native to Calgary. These evangelical books have been delivered to homes all across the city of Calgary. Prayers are going out to the families that have received these beautifully illustrated books. We are praying for the salvation of our city - for youth, adults, children, seniors and everyone from all walks of life.

MEXICO TRIP

Our very own, Rod Magarrell has been forming teams from our church to travel to Reynosa, Mexico. Working alongside Hero Makers, our members have helped to build children's homes (orphanages).

While there, team members work long hours during the day and then get the opportunity to minister to the children, hang out and have fun together. The next Reynosa Trip is planned for February 2010.

WORLD MISSIONS

In 2001, we connected closely with and now serve on the board of a ministry called Resurrection Power Church International (RPCI). Their network of churches includes: Hong Kong, mainland China, Sri Lanka, and now more recently Toronto. The Resurrection Power International church in Toronto required a van to transport their less mobile members to church. New Beginnings raised the money to purchase and deliver a van to them. We have invested money, time and prayer in these churches as well as travelling to minister in person to various RPCI locations.

New Beginnings continues to pray for and send funds to support many mission outreaches around the world. Since 1987, we have contributed monthly to Gentle Hands ministry based in the Philippines. This ministry provides a birthing clinic for young mothers who cannot afford proper medical care. Gentle Hands provides free of charge pre-natal care, classes and teaching, as well as food. Many have been born again through this ministry.

In 2005, New Beginnings raised $6,000.00 for the Indian Evangelical Team orphanage in India, many of whose children are orphans of parents who have been martyred while sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in India.

YOUTH MISSIONS

	Our very own youth group spent some ministry time travelling around the city and the province reaching children and youth through music, drama and relevant teachings. Some of their trips included, High Prairie, Grand Prairie and the Siksika Reservation. Many children, youth and parents were impacted by the youth group's performance and passion for Christ.

	This is not an exhaustive list of the entire historical mission efforts of New Beginnings Family Church. We believe that this list gives an indication of the heart behind our call to missions. This includes our city, our province and the nations of the world. We will be faithful in fulfilling the call.
